ASUS P750 System ROM Upgrade

Latest WM6 PDA Release from ASUS is 'P750', which has been now know to be plagued with hanging problems and system freezes. Moreover users cannot install any SPB, SPH and lot of other 3rd party softwares on P750 as it causes severe freezing and slowdown. This new device which was rushed up in a race to get it released before upcoming HP 610 series in 2008 has been a huge faliure when it comes to be operational. This ROM Upgrade release just one month after the Device release itself is an attemt from ASUS to save its face, be honest to its customers and admit and rectify its problems in this device.

Additional features and improvements:
1.Improve power consumption performance when device power off.
2.Upgrade modem version to V4.5.4 to improve phone function
3.Fix system message description
4.Improve system stability and performance

Caution:
1. Please check your extended ROM version from start/setting/system/system info/version and then start upgrade your P750 to latest firmware version. If there is no Extended ROM version, please hard reset your unit and then check the Extended ROM appears to start upgrade. Do not upgrade your P750 with out extended ROM version. In this situation, please contact your retailer or send your unit to our service center. Local engineer will help you upgrade your P750 firmware to latest one.
2. Do not interrupt the upgrade process and avoid touching keypad and screen when upgrading.
3. It is recommended to format SD card into FAT format.
4. Please make sure battery level is above 60%
5. Please make sure to use SD card with capacity 2G or less for upgrade.
6. Please make sure that there is no other folder named "2577".
7. If such folder exists, please rename it to a different name then change it back after upgrade.

Please follow below procedures to upgrade:
1. Please restart your P750 and turn off all wireless connection from start/setting/connection/wireless manager.
2. Power in adapter.
3. Unzip and copy all the files and folders (2577, AsusP750.cap, GPSFirmwareUpdate, PegasusP.cap, RadioFirmwareUpdate) into the root directory of a Micro-SD card(Non-SDHC).
4. Insert the Micro SD card to the device and wait for the Autorun.exe to run(It might takes few seconds).
5. If the Autorun.exe does not run automatically, please launch it from \Storage Card\2577\.
6. Follow the instructions until the updating is finished. The whole upgrade process should take about ten minutes.
7. Please Confirm version in "Start"=>"Setting"=>"System"=>"System Information"=>"Version".

Changes:
1.Fixed the system sometime auto suspend when battery is over 8%.
2.Fixed backlight can't turn off after backlight auto turn off and power off -> on.
3.Change USB string from "USB socket default" to "USB".
4.Fixed the latter position error of ITL GAPI.
5.Fixed:
(1) ¡§Start¡¨ button will be disabled when backup procedure was cancel in backup procedure.
(2) ¡§Start¡¨ button will be disabled when restore procedure was cancel in restore procedure.
(3) Show ¡§out if¡¨ message when restore in process.
(4) ROM storage size was incorrect.

Then follow the simple instructions:
1. copy all OS Image files to SD card [now formated as FAT16 system]
2. hard restart Acer n35 device [move knob to the left]
3. Instert the SD Card
4. Hold the power button, and move the hard reset knob to the left
5. aproximatly count 4 sec. and release the power button
6. the screen will say SD DOWNLOAD [not DOWNLOAD IMG] and then after ~10 sec. the Orange bar will appear
7. The device will reboot automatically after it has completed flashing .

Release Notes:
One more thing , to upgrade to the files in
n35_sdv1.40.32_wwe.zip
just use the procedure above
if you want to upgrade to files in
n35_SE_v2.10.12_WWE_SD.rar
first load onto your SD card the files from
n35_SE_Eboot 6.2.rar
then reboot device
and load onto SD card the files from
n35_SE_v2.10.12_WWE_SD.rar
and repeat the flashing procedure.
